LETTER FROM THE BOSS.....
As the CEO of this organization, I have resigned myself to the fact that Barrack Obama is our President and that our taxes and government fees will increase in a BIG way. To compensate for these increases, our prices would have to increase by about 10%.
But since we cannot increase our prices right now due to the dismal state ofthe economy, we will have to lay off six of our employees instead. This has really been bothering me, since I believe we are family here and I didn't know how to choose who would have to go.
So, this is what I did. I walked through our parking lot and found six'Obama' bumper stickers on our employees' cars and have decided these folks will be the ones to let go. I can't think of a more fair way to approach this problem. They voted for change, I gave it to them.
I will see the rest of you at the annual company picnic.

Perhaps there is an alternative to eliminating 6 positions. Maybe you, along with the other members on the board of executives, could sacrifice your bonuses this year. Maybe you could sell one of your vacation homes, do you really need that many? Perhaps you could put the wife's "augmentation" or the purchase of your third italian sports car on hold until the economy rebounds. I realize you got to the position you are in through hard work and that you have "earned" your seven figure salary, but times are tough and maybe...just maybe if you sacrificed one of the several millions of dollars you bring home each year you could not only save the six positions but have enough left over for a wicked pinata for that company picnic. You would still be a millionaire and 6 people would still have jobs...sounds like a win win win to me.

Dear Captain Obvious,
Why not make Hollywood, or the Sports teams you watch give their bonus and huge salaries up? Why is it that only once sector is getting blamed for being so greedy? Does an actor really need millions of dollars for a 2-3 month movie shot? Or why does a baseball player deserve a several millions for a seasons work? There are probably more millionaires with sports cars and vacation homes that are actors and athletes then there are that work in the white collar sector.
Ask any of them, and they would say the deserve it because of their sacrifice and talent.
I was responding directly to your post which dealt with the CEO of a company...your response seems like a bit of a tangent.
That being said, I think celebrities could/should be more charitable with their earnings, and many are (I'm certain some are greedy as well). I do see some difference between the celebrity and the executive in that when an actor does something stupid to hurt their career they don't take down the salaries/pensions/lives of several employees with them, they are pretty much business entities unto themselves.
If you don't like athletes and actors then don't support them... stop seeing movies and watching sporting events (which I assume you do as actors are silly liberals and their craft is simply "lying" as the momzoo put it)
As for the assumption that actors and athletes are the only ones multiple houses (ehem...John McCain can't even remember how many he has) and fancy cars...I doubt that is accurate, you just see celebrities more because they are in the spotlight. I have an acquaintance whose father was CEO of a large corporation, I believe he owns 6 houses in the states and one in Thailand, but he isn't the type of guy you would see on the cover of Enterainment Weekly.

As for athletes, we don't watch sports. As for movies, we will watch those and I don't mind paying for them and I don't mind that the actors (liars...;-)) make as much as they do. In fact I don't think that the rich should be taxed more (percentage) than I am.
