Okay I'm mad and this seemed like the place to share. I have enjoyed reading a blog about a family who is very conservative Christian, who homeschools their family and has a little family farm. Someone commented on their blog about Mormons who don't even believe in the real bible, but have their own, and how they SAY they don't believe in abortion, but their views are actually different. The owner of the blog agreed that we are sinners and going to hell. I posted a reply with a link to an article by Russel M. Nielson about our stand on abortion, stated that we do in fact read and teach from the bible and do have additional scriptures that are additional witnesses of Jesus Christ. My post was deleted. That's fine, it's their personal blog. I guess I'm just mad that they didn't say anything about why they felt like the comment needed to be deleted, and I'm mad that it's okay to attack other peoples' religions out of ignorance and misinformation, and then members of that religion are not allowed to defend or counter. Argh!
As for abortion, I'm definitely pro-life, baby!
Sorry to hear about that experience.
Mind sharing the BLOG that censored you with us?
Vaughnshire.com It's interesting because I hear there's a lot of anti-Mormon sentiment in the South. I've suspected for a while that this was the case with the authors of the blog, but pretended I was mistaken. Now it's pretty hard to ignore. I've suspected because so many of the links on their site lead to bookstores and such that sell anti-Mormon literature.
Oh well, everyone's entitled to their own opinion and they're entitled to post or not post whatever they want on their own blog. And I'm free to choose what blogs I read.
I think it's interesting too, after reading that talk from Elder Bednar. When I think about it with the viewpoint of real-people interaction instead of anonymous cyber-world interaction, I would never choose to associate with someone who has such a hatred of my religion (and could in fact put my church membership in jeopardy), so why would I choose to associate in blog land? Answer: I wouldn't.
