2nd Amendment Under Attack!

Congressman Bobby L Rush (1st District of Illinois) has put a bill in the house H.R. 45 or the short name is "Blair Hol'ts Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009". You can view the full text of the bill on the gop.gov website by clicking here. Basically the bill makes it MANDATORY for anyone who buys a firearm in the US to have a FEDERAL GUN LICENSE to do so. "It shall be unlawful for any person other than a licensed importer, licensed manufacture, licensed dealer, or licensed collector to possess a qualifying firearm..." Unless you have a license issued by the federal government. Here are the items that are required to get your brand new federal gun license.
  1. Current, passport sized photograph
  2. Name, Address, date and place of birth
  3. Any other names you have ever used
  4. Clear Thumb print
  5. Statement saying you are not prohibited from obtaining a firearm.
  6. Certificate stating you will keep your firearm away from anyone under 18 years of age
  7. Written Exam, that covers: safe storage, safe handling, risks of having gun at home, legal responsibilities for having firearm, and anything else the Attorney General determines appropriate.
  8. "an Authorization by the applicant to release to the Attorney General or an authorized representative of the Attorney General ANY MENTAL HEALTH RECORDS pertaining to the applicant"
  9. Date
  10. Signature

Did you catch number 8 on the list. OK, I am OK with the picture, thumb print and documents saying I know how to keep firearms safely, but do I really need to sign my medical records over to the federal government.

BTW, you still have to use the OLD background check as well. But you will also have to pay a $25.00 licensing fee to the Federal Government. (OK, so the bill says up to $25.00 but since when has the Federal Government only charged the minimum amount?)

But there are a few other things that must happen as well. The seller must file the application within 48 hours (under penalty of law).

The license expires every 5 years, and you are required to get a new license, including new photograph, if you wish to keep your firearms. So you have to go through the entire license process again, within 30 days of the license expiring. What happens if they change the fee, or the requirements for the license? I can see this as a way for them to make it harder and harder for Americans to afford to have firearms.

But wait, that is not all. You now are required to tell the Attorney General within 72 hours if one of your firearms is missing or stolen. And you have 60 days to tell him when you move, and your new address.

It will also be illegal to sell you firearms to private individuals UNLESS they have a valid Federally Issued Firearms License.

Under this plan, the federal government will know where ever LEGAL firearm is in the United States. This does not to address the problems with ILLEGAL firearms. It is only going to restrict the freedoms of people who own firearms legally. The crimes are not committed by the legal owners of the guns.

OK, so those items aren't the worst........

The bills main purpose is to keep firearms out of the reach of children. It also puts the burden on the owner of the gun if someone under 18 uses the firearm in a crime. You have to prove that you had the gun under lock and key, unloaded, and stored in a safe place. If you can't do that, then you are under law responsible for the crime done with your firearm.

Basically, if someone under 18 takes your firearms and uses it in a crime, you are responsible for the crime because you did not store your firearm where the child could not get it.

The knee SAGA continues... Surgery on Thursday.

Well, we have spent so much time and effort on the right knee, that I neglected the left foot. It has been hurting since the accident, but was told by several specialists that it was just a deep tissue bruise and that the x-rays looked good. Well, the pain was getting almost unbearable at times. I could not stand for more than 10-15 minutes, and vibrations also cause a lot of pain. So I went to my primary care and had them look at it again. They took some x-rays, then ordered a CT Scan. And guess what..... They found a Lisfranc fracture. My primary care then sent me to see a foot doctor (Podiatrist). I am going in for surgery on Thursday to get it fixed.

In the x-ray above, red circled area, you can see the damage. Those bones are suppose to be touching like they are with the other toes. At rest (no pressure on foot) mine has a 2mm gap. But when I walk on it, the gap grows to 6mm. Some movement is normal, but not that much movement. They will make an incision above the circled area, and then remove some small bone fragments that were created during the break.

After they get done removing the bone fragments, they will then wire the three biggest toes together. I don't know for sure were they are going to put the wires, but he showed me on the x-ray about were the red line is. Basically, there are some soft tissues that keep your toes together. They are no longer doing their job in my left foot, so they are going to put a wire in place and pull the toes together. This will limit the spread of the toes during movement. It will also get rid of the pain. Only time will tell.

I then will have to wear a walking cast (metal boot) for 2-4 weeks. I have an appointment with my knee doctor next week, it will be interesting to see what he says when he finds out my foot was actually fractured instead of just bruised. I am not to fond of him, and would never suggest anyone go see him.

Obama once said at a fundraiser in San Fransisco...

"And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. So it’s not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

He is talking about how the Clinton and Bush administration has done nothing for small towns in Pennsylvanian and the Midwest. And that their unemployment rates are on the rise. He then makes the comment that when people are bitter, they cling to their guns and the religion. I think he is right. When people don't like the way the government is being run, they turn to guns and to religion.

Here are some interesting headlines:
"Gun Sales on the Rise"
"Gun Sales, Permit Applications Jump In Florida"
"Gun Sales Up With New Administration In Office"
"Election of new President triggers interest in guns"
"'Obama Effect' Hitting Local Gun Stores"

I guess Kyle was right.. (yes I am mentioning you again) I must be bitter. Because I have purchased guns in the last week. I will BLOG about them in future posts.

Presidential Waste of Money

I was reading an article in National Geographic, while waiting to see a doctor about my knee. The article is called "Inside the Presidency". Full text of the article can be found on NationalGeographic.com.
The article talks about the bubble that follows the president as he travels. I just want everyone to understand how much tax payers money was used when the president traveled to push the bailout. This is what has to move around with the president when he travels.
  1. Air Force One - a 747 (747 holds 60495 US Gal of fuel, at $3.90 a gallon, it would cost $235,930.50 to fill the tank, for a 5,300 nautical mile trip)
  2. A second 747 - For the media (they do pay for their seats). Another $235,930.50
  3. 2 US Air Force C-17 Globemaster III, to carry the President's Limousine and a spare. (c-17 holds 27387 US Gal of fuel, at $3.90 a gallon, it would cost $106,812 per plane, for 2400 nautical miles per fill-up)
  4. Marine One (The Presidential Helicopter, a VH-60N)
  5. They rent 600-800 hotel rooms for each trip (Several floors at each hotel)
  6. Up to 800 people (30 White House Staff, 100+ Secret Service members, 150+ Media representatives).
  7. Local police are at full staff

And that is just the top of the list. Remember that each time the president goes out campaigning for one of his plans, it is costing the tax payers hundreds of thousands of dollars. Hey, Obama, instead of flying to Colorado to sign a bill, why not stay home and send me the check for the money saved. I would really like to have my house paid off, and be able to buy a bigger one.

What a waste...

"GAZA — Three Congressional Democrats, including Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts, the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, visited Gaza on Thursday, saying they wanted to see for themselves the destruction caused by the
war with Israel last month and to assess the area’s needs.

They were the first American government officials to visit this Palestinian coastal strip run by Hamas in more than three years and the first American legislators to come since 2000, according to a spokeswoman for the American Consulate in Jerusalem.
" [Source: NYtimes.com]

CAN YOU SAY WASTE OF TAX PAYERS MONEY!!!! It is funny to me that Mr. Green John Kerry thinks he has to use fossil fuels and tax payers money to see what destruction is caused by a war. What, can't the media and news pictures tell you the story.

This is a total waste of tax payers, and "precious natural resources". I wonder how many secret service, and military personnel had to baby sit them while they were over there. And the thing is... They could not even share the same plane. They had to go on their own separate tours and arrive at different times.

URGGGHHH... It amazes me at how out of touch our congressmen are. Hey, I want to go see the devastation for myself as well. Can the US flip the bill for my tour? This is just an inconvenient truth. I can see their report now... "Yes, the area was devestated in a war. It was terrible, people are suffering. Blah, Blah, Blah... I am going to write a book on it..."

(And yes Kyle, I would be just as upset about this if any of the three were republicans....)

Create new jobs?

So it has been proclaimed that the stimulus package will create jobs. I have seen it as high as 5 million jobs being reported. But that is just a drop in the bucket if you take in account the 500 million jobs a month that Pelosi says the US is losing every month. Considering there are only 300+ million in the US, we will have a 100% unemployment rate within the month.

But that is not the main point of this post. The main point of the post is that the stimulus package is NOT going to create jobs for the people who are losing them. The stimulus package puts money into sectors that the average American is not employed in. How is billions put into research for alternative energy going to create a job for the car dealership sales man? How is billions put into the military going to help the local business owners? How is putting millions into health insurance information technology going to help the person who just lost their manufacturing job?

This package puts money into industries that are not currently effected by high unemployment rates. The package is a waste of tax payers money, and funds projects that should of been funded when they were created. This package is not going to help people not lose their houses, their jobs, or improve the economy.

I just feel sorry for my kids that will now have to pay off 2 trillion in new debt because the current working generation won't be able to do it. I also feel bad for them because we are going to hand them an economy that is no better than we have with major debt as well.

The Administration knows that this will not help. Obama is now currently looking for an additional $75 Billion to fund a plan to help stop foreclosures. I thought that was one of the goals of the stimulus package.

Has anyone stop to think why?

Obama-Biden want to spend $50 billion to digitize and store your medical records in an Electronic Information System. Here is what it says on http://www.whitehouse.gov/
Lower Health Care Costs by Investing in Electronic Information Technology Systems: Use health information technology to lower the cost of health care. Invest $10 billion a year over the next five years to move the U.S. health care system to broad adoption of standards-based electronic health information systems, including electronic health records. [Source: WhiteHouse.gov]
The recently passed Stimulus package contains funding for the Health Information Technology movement.
For an additional amount for ‘‘Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology’’, $3,000,000,000, to carry out title XIII of this Act which shall be available until expended: Provided, That of this amount, the Secretary of Health and Human Services shall transfer $20,000,000 to the Director of the National Institute of Standards and Technology in the Department of Commerce for continued work on advancing health care information enterprise integration through activities such as technical standards analysis and establishment of conformance testing infrastructure so long as such activities are coordinated with the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology... [Source: GOP.gov]
The government is saying that this will save us a lot of money in Health Care Costs. I don't see it that way. How can spending $50 Billion help save money.

Case and point. I recently had some imaging done on my knee and foot. And using my health insurances private extranet, I was able to view the results the same time my doctor was able to look at them. Did the federal government set this up? No, it was a private insurance company that set it up so that Hospital, Doctor, and Patient could have up-to-date information. The private sector is already doing this, why does the government need to be a player in it?

That makes me wonder, why the government would want access to our medical records? For a society that gets upset because the government used some wire taps, Google can track were you are based on your email usage, and does not want the government knowing where and why we fly around the country. Why are we letting them setup a network that will track our health information? Why is this a good idea?

I am not saying that the government is planning on some type of conspiracy, but I know for a fact (based on my many years in the IT industry) that if someone collects the data and it is stored, someone will use that data. If the government controls our medical records, it is not a far stretch to see them using it for other purposes. Hey, wouldn't it be great if the IRS could automatically deduct from your tax liability because it knows your medical expenses? It would be cool to be able to go from one state to another and have your medical information follow you?

Those may sound like neat things that this technology can do, but what about these questions. Who in the US has been tested for AIDS/HIV? How many people are currently under medical treatment for depression, or drug abuse? Who has had an abortion? And when DNA testing, etc is in full swing... Who has a specific gene, or trait...

I don't care how good the intentions are, if you give the government easy access to information, they will use it and eventually abuse it. They will probably say it is for the national security. But eventually, they will know your national origin, medical risks, medication allergies, blood type, and eventually your DNA information.

I don't know if this scares anyone, but it sure scares me. Not to mention the possibility of what a hacker would do with a database that holds the entire nations medical histories.

If the shoe was on the other foot...

Now here's a thought . . . .

If you are ready for the adventure of alifetime, try this:

a.. Go to Pakistan , Afghanistan or Iraq illegally. Never mind immigration quotas, visas, international law, or any of that nonsense.

b.. Once there, demand that the local government provide free medical care for you and your entire family.

c.. Demand that all nurses and doctors be fluent in English, and that all food be cooked according to your special specifications in the hospital.

d. Demand free local government forms, bulletins, etc. be printed in English.

e.. Procreate abundantly.

f.. Deflect any criticism of this allegedly irresponsible reproductive behaviour with, 'It is a cultural thing; you wouldn't understand.'

g.. Keep your original identity strong. Fly your previous country's national flag from your rooftop, or proudly display it in your front window, or on your car bumper.

h.. Speak only English at home and in public, and make sure that your children do likewise.

i.. Demand classes on English culture in the Muslim school system.

j.. Demand a local country driver license or national insurance number equivalent

k.. This will afford other legal rights and will go far to legitimise your un au thorised, illegal, presence in Pakistan , Afghanistan or Iraq

l.. Drive around with no motor, tax or insurance and ignore local traffic laws.

m.. Insist that local country law enforcement teaches English to all its officers..

n.. Organise protest marches against your host country, inciting violence against non-white, non-Christians, and the government that let you in.

Good luck! You'll soon be dead.

It would never happen in Pakistan , Afghanistan or Iraq (or any other country in the world for that matter) except in the UK, US, Canada or Australia, because we are run by soft, politically correct politicians that are too scared to 'offend' anyone.

If you agree, pass it on.

If you don't, go ahead and try the above in Pakistan, Afghanistan or Iraq
Note: I am not taking credit for this post. It was sent to me via email, and I figured that instead of SPAMing people, I would pass it on by posting it to my blog.

We live in a MESSED UP world.

Two articles come to mind.
The first one is about three reasons to quit smoking... And they are....
  1. For your pets health.
  2. For cash.
  3. For your health.

What is wrong with this picture. Are people really more apt to quit smoking because the smoke is hurting their pets health. I would think that CANCER, DEATH, SICKNESS for yourself would trump the Pet card. [Source: US News & World Report]

Second, is about the octuplets mother. She is now receiving DEATH threats to wards her and her kids. COME ON.... The liberals fight so hard to make sure that a woman has the right to do whatever she wants to do with her body. That is the #1 argument for abortion. So this woman exercised her rights to have 14 kids. And what happens. Oh, we need to limit that because she is on welfare, and can't take care of them. It is HER RIGHT to do whatever she wants to do with her body, REMEMBER. So back off. She may be using the government to help support her and her kids, but from what I can tell, the government did not pay for her fertilization treatments. She worked two jobs to save the money for them. Read the full article here from Associated Press.

HAPPY 200th Birthday - Charles Robert Darwin (12 February 1809 - 19 April 1882)

Charles Robert Darwin - The Father of Natural Selection and Evolution. (The death of Creationism and Intellectual Design)

I was curious to see what type of Man could come up with the theory that would make the bible removed from schools, and start a movement to remove GOD from everything.

So, I wanted to read his autobiography. Since it was written so long ago, the copyright has expired on it. And thanks to the Gutenberg Project, the full text of his Autobiography can be found on line.

What better way to find out what type of man a man is then by quoting his own words.... Lets see what Darwin has to say for himself.

While reading his autobiography, I came across something that I thought was very interesting. Over the 20-30 years of his life when the started to really develop his ideas of Darwinism and evolution, he lost his love for the arts. In his own words:

I have said that in one respect my mind has changed during the last twenty or thirty years. Up to the age of thirty, or beyond it, poetry of many kinds, such as the works of Milton, Gray, Byron, Wordsworth,Coleridge, and Shelley, gave me great pleasure, and even as a schoolboy I took intense delight in Shakespeare, especially in the historical plays. I have also said that formerly pictures gave me considerable, and music very great delight. But now for many years I cannot endure to read a line of poetry: I have tried lately to read Shakespeare, and found it so intolerably dull that it nauseated me. I have also almost lost my taste for pictures or music.

Sad, he use to love reading poetry, the first part of his autobiography talks about how he would spend time singing and enjoying music. Long walks in the country and enjoying pictures and plays. But now these things are dull and even nauseating. He then goes on to say:

The loss of these tastes is a loss of happiness, and may possibly be injurious to the intellect, and more probably to the moral character, by enfeebling the emotional part of our nature.

Did I read that right. Did he just say the the loss of the arts, or non scientific likes may be injurious to moral character? He attributes this to the atrophy of the part of the brain that controls these tastes. He then goes on to say that he wishes that he would of at least spent some time each week on the arts.

I don't think I agree with him on this point. Could this be the real reason why he started to not like the arts, etc. Could it be because he started to turn way from GOD and Christianity. In his own words:

....During these two years (March 1837 - January 1839) I was led to think much about religion. Whilst on board the Beagle I was quite orthodox, and I remember being heartily laughed at by several officers (though themselves orthodox) for quoting the Bible as an unanswerable authority on some point of morality. I suppose it was the novelty of the argument that amused them. But I had gradually come by this time (i.e. 1836 to 1839) to see the Old Testament, from its manifestly false history of the world, with the Tower of Babel, the rain-bow as a sign, and from its attributing to God the feelings of a revengeful tyrant, was no more to be trusted than the sacred books of the Hindoos, or the beliefs of any barbarian....

....Thus disbelief crept over me at a very slow rate, but was at last complete. The rate was so slow that I felt no distress, and have never since doubted for a single second that my conclusion was correct. I can indeed hardly see how anyone ought to wish Christianity to be true; for if so, the plain language of the text seems to show that the men who do not believe, and this would include my Father, Brother, and almost all my best friends, will be everlastingly punished. And this is a damnable doctrine....

I think that the reason he lost his happiness and the love for the arts was because he turned away from God and started to remove his influence in life and nature. It is truly sad that he has lost his "happiness".

I am open to thoughts on this one, and would like to have any comments you may have.

UN Treaty will take away Parents Rights!

I was recently sent the link to an interesting article by Chelsea Schilling on WorldNetDaily. You can read the article she wrote by going to this URL. The article explains a UN treaty on human rights. There is an organization called parentsrights.org that explains what we can do to combat this. Here are just some of high level points that the Convention on the Rights of the Child or CRC will do.
  1. Parents would no longer be able to administer reasonable spankings to their children.
  2. A murderer aged 17 years, 11 months and 29 days at the time of his crime could no longer be sentenced to life in prison.
  3. Children would have the ability to choose their own religion while parents would only have the authority to give their children advice about religion.
  4. The best interest of the child principle would give the government the ability to override every decision made by every parent if a government worker disagreed with the parent’s decision.
  5. A child’s “right to be heard” would allow him (or her) to seek governmental review of every parental decision with which the child disagreed.
  6. According to existing interpretation, it would be illegal for a nation to spend more on national defense than it does on children’s welfare.
  7. Children would acquire a legally enforceable right to leisure.
  8. Teaching children about Christianity in schools has been held to be out of compliance with the CRC.
  9. Allowing parents to opt their children out of sex education has been held to be out of compliance with the CRC.
  10. Children would have the right to reproductive health information and services, including abortions, without parental knowledge or consent.
Does this scare anyone else? I know that it scares momzoo and I. I would like to hear what others think about this. I may be naive, but I seriously doubt that it will get a 2/3 vote to be ratified by the senate. But now Hillary can get it put before them. There are a lot of articles that do make sense, but there are a few that go way to far.

Here are the articles that parentalrights.org used for their list (the one above). If you click on the article name, it will take you to the page where they discuss it.

Open Letter to Politicians

Open Letter to Politicians

This is my open letter to all Politicians. Including the current, to be elected, and thinking about running.

We want someone with MORAL FIBER. And by fiber I am talking about someone who will stand up for what they believe. Someone who will not bend their moral convictions because of money, special interest groups.

We want someone who is HONEST. We don't want someone in office that forgets to pay their share of taxes, remember that paying taxes is patriotic. Has others build their home for them in return for scratching their back with a bill.

We want someone that VALUES FAMILY. We don't want someone in office that likes little boys or prostitutes. We want someone that is faithful to their wife/husband and family.

We want someone who BELIEVES IN GOD. We want someone that remembers that the constitution was based and founded because of a strong belief in GOD and the right to practice religion. We want someone that believes in freedom of religion, not freedom from religion.

We want someone that BELIEVES IN LIFE. We want someone that believes that the life of an unborn child is more important than a tree, fuzzy animal, or enemy of the US.

We want someone who is PATRIOTIC. We want someone that loves the constitution, will recite the pledge of allegiance, put their hand over their heart for the flag, and feels stirred when they hear the star spangled banner.

We want someone who REMEMBERS THE PEOPLE they serve. We want someone what remembers that they are suppose to represent us, instead of the special interest groups. Someone that remembers they server the people, not money and the lobbyists.

We want someone who is RACE TRANSPARENT. We want someone that sees all races as equals. Someone that does not look at someone and see the color of their skin.

We want someone who sees their office as a PRIVILEGE. Someone who remembers that serving is a privilege, given by the people. Not some thing that is owed to them by the people.

-----
If you agree with this, please leave a comment, and share this post with your friends. Lets see how many people we can get to comment on this one. Is there really any hope? Do people still see the government as a tool for the people, or as something that restricts, and eliminates our freedoms?

Pelosi - Supporter of Eugenics?

In an interview on ABC's "This Week", Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is quoted as saying the following.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Hundreds of millions of dollars to expand family planning services. How is that stimulus?

PELOSI: Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children's health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. One of those - one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government.

This statement raises the questions. How does family planning, ie abortion, reduce costs? It would be interesting to see if she ever expands on this one.

Just think what would of happened if family planning would of had their policies put in place when Ann Dunham Soetoro found out she was pregnant with Barack Hussein Obama II? According to them, he should of never of been born. To expensive for the system to take care of him and make him any value to society.
